Philadelphia Students Rally Against School Budget Cuts |

About 300 people, primarily high school students, rallied outside School District headquarters and marched to City Hall to protest against expected education budget cuts and to demand arts and music programs are saved.

Mayor Nutter is promising action on school violence after The Inquirer published an investigative series that described brutal attacks in classrooms.
Legislators from around the state have called for change in the aftermath of The Inquirer's series which found there were more than 30,000 serious incidents in the schools during the last five years, attacks were carried out by children in the earliest of grades, and that violence often was not reported or reported late.
