Apparently the Washington Nationals would rather see empty seats than Phillies fans in the seats of their ballpark. Forget You, Philly is the new cry from the Nationals top brass. They've named the campaign, "Take Back the Park." The Nationals plan to prevent Phillies fans from buying tickets by refusing to sell tickets to anyone who doesn't have a Washington, Maryland or Virginia address attached to their credit card. Punxsutawney Phil Predicts Six More Weeks Of Winter

Pennsylvania's Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his lair to "see" his shadow on Thursday, in the process predicting six more weeks of winter.

The groundhog made his "prediction" on Gobbler's Knob, a tiny hill in the town for which he's named about 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

Chester-Upland School District Petitions Gov. Corbett

A delegation from Chester delivered petitions to Governor Tom Corbett's office seeking state funds to keep the Chester-Upland schools open.

Four women and a child went to the governor's office carrying a petition they say contains almost 2,500 signatures seeking to keep the Chester-Upland School District open.

Pennsylvania Food Stamps Asset Guidelines Set

The Corbett administration has announced the guidelines of a controversial asset test it plans to re-impose in order for people to qualify for food stamps.

After discussions between the Department of Welfare and the Governor's Office and the Department of Agriculture the asset limit for food stamps has been set.

Here's an idea from a city councilwoman that would boost the revenues of the Philadelphia school district. Put advertising on school buses.

CBS 3 reported that City Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown introduced a plan for what she admits would be a controversial money stream.

“If we win approval from the state, this bill will allow the city of Philadelphia to place advertisements on the back of school buses.”

Retired Archbishop of Philadelphia, Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua Dies At 88

Retired Archbishop of Philadelphia, Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua died in his sleep at 9:15 Tuesday night in his residence at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood.

Bevilacqua served as the Archbishop of Philadelphia for 15 years - from 1988 to 2003, succeeding Cardinal John Krol.

He was elevated by Pope John Paul II to Cardinal in 1991. He was succeeded by Cardinal Justin Rigali.

"Soul Train" Creator / Host, Don Cornelius Found Dead - Shot In His Home

According to the Los Angeles Times, "Soul Train" creator and host Don Cornelius was found dead at his Sherman Oaks, CA home early Wednesday morning.

He apparently died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound. There was no sign of foul play when authorities arrived at his home at 4 a.m., but the Los Angeles Police Department is still investigating the incident. There has been no official determination of what happened, the investigation is still ongoing.

Former Philadelphia Eagle and Villanova Wildcat running back Brian Westbrook is about to start a career in radio broadcasting. Long time Phillie Left Fielder, Pat Burrell Retires After 12 Years

Pat Burrell, 35, is putting down the bat after a 12 year career. He was drafted No. 1 overall by the Phillies in 1998 out of the University of Miami as a third baseman, but spent the majority of his career as a left fielder. He was most notably known for his prowess at the plate. Pat the Bat finished his career just shy of 300 HR's at 292.

Eagles Hire Todd Bowles to Coach Eagles Defensive Backs

The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing in former Miami Dolphins interim head coach, Todd Bowles to be the Birds defensive backs coach. Juan Castillo will remain defensive coordinator.

Bowles will be in charge of the entire secondary. Safeties coach Mike Zordich will report to under Bowles. Bowles will fill the vacancy left by Johnnie Lynn after he Eagles fired him.
