Archbishop Carroll Athletic Director Pleads Guilty

The former athletic director at Archbishop Carroll High School pleaded guilty this week to charges that he arranged a sex tryst with a teenage boy he once recruited to play football at the school.

Francis Murphy of Bryn Mawr, faces up to 14 years in prison after pleading guilty in Montgomery County Court to unlawful contact and corruption of a minor. His attorneys called the crime an "isolated incident" and said they would argue against a jail term.

Occupy Philly Permit Appeal

OCCUPY PHILLY voted to appeal a permit application offered by the city. The permit application would bar protesters from camping overnight, and allow them to assemble at Thomas Paine Plaza only between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Members of the Occupy Philly legal collective said the restrictions would change the nature of the movement from an occupation to a demonstration, which would make a big difference in the power behind the group's message.

Taylor Swift is bringing more pride to Pennsylvania, not to mention some more award hardware. Swift won three American Music Awards including beating Adele, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Lil Wayne for artist of the year. The 21-year-old Swift previously claimed the award in 2009.

Phillies Pick Up Ty Wigginton From the Rockies

The Phillies grabbed utilityman Ty Wigginton from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for a player to be named later. Wigginton was a .242 hitter with 15 homers and 47 RBIs in 130 games last season. He played third and first base, left field and right field. The 34-year-old Wigginton has hit .265 with 158 homers and 548 RBIs in 1,190 games in 10 seasons with the New York Mets, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, Houston, Baltimore and Colorado.
