Villanova's red shirt Freshman QB John Robertson took home the Jerry Rice Award on Monday night after being named the top freshman in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision. Hall of Fame Receiver Jerry Rice himself was on hand at the Society Hill Sheraton in Philadelphia at the FCS Award Ceremony to hand Robertson the trophy. A Philadelphia judge today ruled that Robert Williams aka Meek Mill cannot travel or tour while on probation for at least a month. This will definitely cancel the North Philadelphia native's plans to head to Africa for a number of concert dates in Lagos, Nigeria and Libreville, Gabon. Meek Mill was also supposed to be appear on Conan O'Brien's late night show in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Garrett Reid had 19 vials of steroids in his room at Lehigh University the day he died. That’s the word from Northampton County DA, John Morganelli. Coach Andy Reid’s son, Garrett was a volunteer on the Eagles’ strength and conditioning staff. The vials contained several types of steroids typically used by body-builders. Garrett Reid Had Vials of Steroids at Lehigh, District Attorney Concludes Case, No Source for Heroin

Last summer, Andy Reid's son Garrett was found dead in the Lehigh University dorm room he was using during Philadelphia Eagles training camp. Police were called at 7:20 on the morning of August 5th. It was determined that Garrett died of a heroin overdose, however, police also found 19 vials of unknown substances, 47 syringes and 64 needles in Reid's room. Today, Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli held a press conference about the case and those vials.

The procession of tiny caskets began today in Newtown, Connecticut beginning a week of funerals for the children killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Six year olds Noah Pozner and Jack Pinto are being buried today. Police say the shooter carried enough ammunition to kill almost everyone in the school. However he took his own life when police arrived.

Carmen Lobis, of Delaware County, is dealing with the loss of his grandson in Newtown, CT. 6-year-old Benjamin Wheeler was one of the victim's of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Lobis drove to Newtown to mourn with his family and the entire community. He says support has come from all across the region and the country.

Rail service for SEPTA and Amtrak has been restored after a four-alarm fire in Frankford shut down some of their lines. The fire broke Sunday morning around 6:30 on the 2200 block of Wakeling Street. "The building is a one-story property - Arco Sales Company is the name of it. It's a machine shop. It does metal working and light industrial. It was totally consumed in the fire," said Capt. Seven Big East Conference schools that don't play FBS football are leaving to create their own conference focused on basketball. The seven basketball schools leaving are: Villanova, Georgetown, St. John's, DePaul, Marquette, Seton Hall and Providence. Shooting at Connecticut Elementary School leaves 27 dead, including many children

This story is still evolving but a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, CT has left 28 people dead. Most of the victims are school children. The school principal, school psychologist, and the gunman are also dead. Another teacher was wounded and being treated at the hospital. This is one of the worst mass shootings in United States history.
