A frozen-solid dead humpback whale washed ashore on a beach in Ocean County on Christmas Day. The 31-foot, 15-ton was found on the beach in Barneget Light on Long Beach Island near the Barneget Inlet. Bon Schoelkopf, co-director of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, said that the cause of death is unknown, but there are no signs of physical injury. The animal may have gotten ill. President Donald Trump signed the $900 billion pandemic relief measure and $1.4 trillion government funding bill on Sunday evening, 12/27. The signing will avert a government shutdown and continue unemployment benefits for millions. Trump did not want to sign the relief bill, complaining that the one-time direct payments of $600 were not enough. He wanted them to be $2,000. Philadelphia Police are investigating a shooting incident early Christmas morning that left two dead and a third injured in Kensington. It happened around 12:30 a.m. on the 3300 block of Emerald Street. Two police officers responded to a call for a fight over a parking spot. The Mummer's Parade is officially canceled this year, but some revelers are planning to hold a New Year's Day 'protest' parade on 2nd Street in South Philly instead. A Delaware County man is accused of election fraud and illegal voting using his dead mother and mother-in-law's names. 70-year-old Bruce Bartman of Marple Township is charged with two counts of perjury and one count of unlawful voting. Bartman used the online voter registration website to register his deceased mother, Elizabeth Bartman, who died a decade ago, as well as his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Weihman, who died in 2019. Wawa opened its first ever drive-thru on Friday morning, 12/19. A drive-thru window was added to the exiting store at 570 Rancocas Road in Westampton, Burlington County.
