Several people were sickened and a Delaware County office was evacuated after fumes filled the building on Wednesday. Firefighters responded to the International Plaza in Tinicum Township around 12 p.m. after reports of a strange odor on the fourth and fifth floors. 16 people were transported to area hospitals complaining of shortness of breath and chest pains. About 39,000 Verizon workers are on strike after last-ditch talks between the company and unions failed Tuesday night. The employees from Verizon Communication Inc.'s landline division walked off the job at 6 a.m. Wednesday. Workers and union officials set up pickets at Verizon's building at Ninth and Race streets in Chinatown ahead of an 8 a.m. rally. Camille asked to have the depositions stopped due to improper and offensive questions being asked during the deposition. Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney announced his picks for fire and prison commissioners today. He went out of state for the former but stayed in house for the later. 43-year-old Adam Thiel, who has been serving as Virginia's deputy secretary of veterans affairs and homeland security, was named fire commissioner. Police say a man was found shot to death inside a car parked on a West Philadelphia street overnight. Neighbors called police to the 1600 block of North Redfield Street early Tuesday because they thought the man was either asleep or dead. The car was still running when neighbors discovered the victim. Police found the 25 year old had been shot three times.

Cabrini College Student Found Dead, Philly Police Officers Not Guilty, Man Sentenced To Life

A 22-year-old Cabrini College Student was found dead in a West Conshohocken home over the weekend. The house was rented by lacrosse players at Cabrini College. The students had a party at the house on Saturday night, and the friends of the student found him dead on Sunday morning. An autopsy is being performed to figure out the cause of death, although they suspect it might be a drug overdose.

University of Pennsylvania officials have identified the student who was struck and killed by a SEPTA Market-Frankford train on Monday morning. 21-year-old Ao "Olivia" Kong was a junior finance major at Wharton School of Business. She is from Philadelphia and attended Central High School. It happened around 7 a.m. near the 40th Street Station. Flyers Founder Ed Snider Dies; Person Killed by SEPTA Train; Phillies Home Opener

Philadelphia Flyers founder Ed Snider has died. Just days after the Flyers clinched a playoff spot. Snider has owned the Flyers since he was awarded the franchise in 1967. Snider had also been a part-owner of the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1970's. Snider has been battling cancer for the last 2 years. Ed Snider was 83.
