Philadelphia Police say Monday afternoon., a detective was in the area of 1600 South Corlies Street to serve a warrant with the Attorney General's Office, when he saw a man who appeared to be carrying a rifle. When the detective approached the man, he allegedly pointed the rifle at the detective, and the detective then discharged his Glock, never striking the man.

A grand jury is investigating two Philadelphia police officials for the alleged cover-up of an arrest in 2012. According to the Daily News, Inspector Aaron Horne and Captain John McCloskey are the subjects of the probe. I had an extreme case of cabin fever on Friday Jan. 3rd when I decided to venture out into the weather to see and hear some live music. I took a drive to one of my favorite places, Vinyl Revival, to catch a concert by Benjamin Poole and Runaway Youth. The atmosphere inside was in total contrast to the weather. The concert was a sell out which surprised me, given the weather. The authentic and warm nature of the performance was reinforced by the appreciation of the audience.

| Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect who threw hot coffee on a Dunkin' Donuts employee. The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon at 1pm on the 4700 block of North Broad Street. A customer became upset when a female Dunkin' employee would not accept an expired coupon he had on his iPhone.
