Philly Hip Hop star Meek Mill (aka Robert Williams) has lost his civil suit against the Philadelphia Police and two city officers today. The 26-year-old rapper from North Philadelphia filed suit over an incident on Halloween 2012. Williams was pulled over, searched, and detained by police for several hours. That detainment caused him to miss a chartered flight, an appearance at his record release party in Atlanta, and possible endorsement money. He was seeking $400,000 in compensation and... Peaking flood waters will recede this afternoon but not before causing havoc in homes, on the roads and mass transit around Philadelphia. We got more than a month's worth of rain in one day – close to 7 inches in some areas. Rising waters stranded cars and busses. Several people had to be rescued from floodwaters. Fortunately, there have only been minimal injuries (photo Jim Melwert).

Tuesday, Governor Christie said that making a $1.5 billion payment to the state pension fund by the end of June remains a priority but not untouchable. Officials say not making the pension fund payment could hurt the state’s ability to borrow money – making it tougher to do projects as simple as re-paving roads riddled with potholes.
