Special Ed Teacher Charged with Sex Assault, Building Collapse Anniversary, Gosnell Son Shot

A special education teacher in Philadelphia was arraigned overnight on charges she had sexual relations with a 14 year old student. Thirty year old Stephanie Amato (pictured), a special-ed teacher at the Ethan Allen School in Mayfair turned herself into the Special Victims Unit yesterday. Amato has been a teacher at Ethan Allen for six years and is accused of having sex with the student numerous times in her car and her home in Northeast Philly.

On Sunday, June 1st The Philadelphia Songwriters Project hosted a benefit concert for animal welfare at the Boot and Saddle. The Songwriters Project is a 501c3 organization founded in 2003 to help discover, support and promote area singer/songwriters. A man shot during a home invasion this morning in Philadelphia's Mantua section has been identified as imprisoned abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell's son. 22-year-old Baron Alexander (formally Gosnell) was shot by a resident of the home on the 3700 block of Brandywine Street in West Philadelphia around 7 am Wednesday. Traffic Around 495 Closure, Rte 30 Lancaster Ave Repair, I Will Listen Day in Philadelphia

The closing of the bridge on I-495 over the Christina River around Wilmington is causing bumper to bumper traffic on I-95 and in neighborhoods around the closures as travelers search for alternate routes. Eight of the bridge's support columns are twisted and tilted making it unsafe for traffic. DelDot says it will be weeks before they have definitive information on the cause of the problem and a potential solution.

Katz Crash Investigation, PA Soldier Killed in Afghanistan, Kids Bowl Free

The investigation continues into the plane crash that killed Lewis Katz and six others over the weekend. National Transportation Safety Board officials are looking at black boxes they recovered. NTSB says the private jet reached a speed of 190 miles per hour and information from the flight data recorder showed that the aircraft did not lift off the runway. NTSB also says the pilot may have been trying to stop the plane.
