Penn State's Athletic Director Sandy Barbour is taking some heat on Twitter. She called the 409 sticker worn on the helmets of Penn State's hockey team "inappropriate and insensitive". The hockey team wore the stickers to recognize the restoration of Joe Paterno's 409 wins as the school's football coach.

South Philly Gas Leak, Patriots Football Deflation, New Career Job Fair

A major gas leak in South Philadelphia forced the evacuation of 6 homes early Tuesday morning on Snyder Avenue around 2:40am. Captain William Dixon of the Philadelphia Fire Department says there was a 60% natural gas reading in the air when the leak was discovered. South Philly High School was opened as a warming center for people who couldn’t yet return to their homes. No one was injured due to the gas leak.

Thousands marched today in Philadelphia on Martin Luther King day. The event was organized by a group called MLK Day of Action, Resistance, and Empowerment or 'MLK Dare'. The march started on North Broad Street outside the headquarters of the Philadelphia School District and headed south around City Hall. The Secret Service says several shots were fired from a fast moving vehicle outside the Delaware residence of Vice President Joe Biden last night. Mr. and Mrs. Biden were not home at the time and no one was hurt. Authorities have one person in custody for questioning. Biden appeared at the Chase Center in Wilmington this morning for a Martin Luther King Day event.

Three people are dead after multi-vehicle accidents on both the Schuylkill Expressway and the Blue Route Sunday morning because of wet and icy roads. One person was killed and several dozen others were injured after a pileup involving at least 50 vehicles on the westbound Schuylkill Expressway near the Gulph Mills exit. Penn State/NCAA Settle, Paterno Wins Restored; Video in Bus Stop Killing; Upper Darby Cop Opens Fire

The NCAA and Penn State have reached a settlement that would vacate the 2012 consent decree signed in the the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal. The settlement would restore 112 wins to the football program, 111 of which were won under the late Joe Paterno, placing him back on top the all-time wins list for head coaches. Penn State will still be responsible for $60 million, but the monies will be used in the state of Pennsylvania for programs to prevent child abuse and to help victims.... Read More
