Police are investigating after they say a man was fatally shot while walking his dog Thursday night in Philadelphia's Overbrook neighborhood. This happened just after 8:30 p.m. on the 6400 block of Woodcrest Avenue. Police say they found the 51-year-old victim unconscious in the street after responding to reports of shots being fired. An Upper Darby mother has been arrested after a carbon monoxide leak led to the discovery of squalid living conditions for her two children. 29-year-old Christina Wright has been charged with endangering the welfare of her children. At 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, next door neighbors called 911when the CO detectors went off in their row home on the 7000 block of Guilford Road in Upper Darby. Ferguson Cops Shot; Ex-PhillyCop Found Dead; Prisons Set to Close

Two officers were shot in front of the Ferguson, Missouri Police Department early this morning as demonstrators gathered after the resignation of the city's police chief in the wake of a scathing Justice Department report alleging bias in the police department and court. A 32-year-old officer was shot in the face and a 41-year-old officer was shot in the shoulder. Both are hospitalized in serious condition. No word on the shooters.

Bill Green - who was demoted last week from Chairman of the School Reform Commission - has changed his party affiliation, and that could open the door to an independent run for mayor this fall. When Green became the chairman of the SRC in early 2014, he ruled out any run for mayor. Governor Wolf removed Green as chairman last week, though he remains on the commission. Seven Marines and four soldiers were missing early Wednesday after an Army helicopter crashed during a night training exercise at Eglin Air Force Base in the Florida Panhandle. Base officials said the Marines are part of a Camp Lejeune-based special operations group and the soldiers were from a Hammond, Louisiana-based National Guard unit.
