A Philadelphia man is now facing an attempted murder charge after it was added at a preliminary hearing today in King of Prussia. 22-year-old Kymere Corbin is accused of shooting his father, 42-year-old Elbert Corbin, Jr., from the back seat of a car while they were driving on the Schuylkill Expressing through West Conshohocken earlier this month. Radnor Police have now identified the suspect wanted in connection with a home burglary last week on the Main Line. Police say that 27-year-old Matthew Heckman of Upper Darby was identified by tipsters as the man seen in surveillance video riding the SEPTA Norristown High Speed Line after the crime. Authorities say an employee at a recycling plant in Camden, New Jersey, found a fetus Thursday afternoon. According to authorities, officers responded to ReCommunity Camden, a recycling plant on Mount Ephraim Avenue, after an employee discovered a deceased fetus on a conveyor belt at around 3 p.m. yesterday. The Camden County Prosecutor's office and Camden County Police Department are investigating.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred says that Pete Rose will be allowed to participate in activities at this year's All-Star Game in Cincinnati. Rose agreed on a lifetime ban from baseball in 1989 for betting on the game, specifically on games involving the Reds when he was a player/manager. Rose's ban has kept him ineligible for the Hall of Fame despite being the all-time career hits leader, 17-time all-star, 3-time World Series winner, 1963 NL Rookie of the Year, and 1973 NL MVP. A Philadelphia Police officer was shot and injured in West Philadelphia Thursday evening. It happened around 10:15 pm at 51st and Master Streets. The 8-year veteran bicycle cop, 37-year-old Officer Daniel Kostick, came into contact with two suspects in a white minivan while investigating drug activity. Synthetic marijuana is putting people in the hospital in the Lehigh Valley. The Lehigh County District Attorney's office says since April 17th there have been at least 50 incidents in the Lehigh Valley. Some required medical treatment or a hospital stay in Allentown, Bethlehem and other parts of the region.

An off-duty Philadelphia police officer opened fire on an armed suspect who attempted to rob him late Wednesday night in the Overbrook section of the city. This happened around 11:45 p.m. on the 5800 block of Malvern Avenue. After work the officer was walking his dog when the suspect approached the officer from behind. The annual Lyrid meteor shower is expected to peak overnight tonight with the best viewing just before dawn on Thursday. The skies should be clearing as the night goes on and the moon should have set by midnight, though it will be getting chilly overnight with temperatures dipping into the 40's.
