Philly Schools Announce Grab-And-Go Meal Locations; Bucks/Chester Counties Closed; Three Murders

The School District of Philadelphia announced that 30 sites will be serving two grab-and-go meals a day, breakfast and lunch. They will be open between 9 a.m. and noon each day. Several recreation centers will be open to youth between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and will be providing a meal at 3 p.m. (see full list below). Pennsylvania announced on Friday, 3/13, that it received a waiver from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to allow eligible schools to serve meals to low-income students by drive-through or grab-and-go settings during the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. The School District of Philadelphia announced on Thursday night, 3/12, that 63 schools would be closed on Friday, 3/13, due to staffing shortages. The shortages were a result of fallout from the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak.
