A car lost control on the icy roads early Sunday morning, 2/14, and ended up down the block on its roof in Philadelphia's Frankford section. It happened around 3:30 a.m. on Bridge Street near Ditman Street. The car was speeding eastbound when it slid on the ice and hit a pole. The car went airborne and struck an awning attached to a home. Police Standoff in Darby, Walmart Shooting; Man Charged in U-Haul Body; Man Stabbed in NE Philly

Authorities in Darby, Delaware County, have been involved in a standoff for several hours this Sunday afternoon, 2/14. The standoff started around 1 p.m. on the 400 block of Main Street. It may be connected to a shooting at the Walmart on MacDade Boulevard in Glenolden earlier this morning around 8:30 a.m. Police used the Walmart shooting suspect's cellphone to track him to this Darby location. The U.S. Senate voted 57-43 to acquit President Donald Trump in his second impeachment trial on Saturday, 2/13. 67 votes are needed to convict. Trump faced a single impeachment article of 'incitement of insurrection' for his actions leading up to the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. McGillin's Heat Lamps Stolen on Video; Man Shot West Chester Barricade; Teen Charged as Adult

A thief was caught on surveillance video stealing a number of heat lamps from a Center City restaurant overnight on Friday, 2/12. It happened at McGillin's Olde Ale House in the alleyway on Drury Street in Midtown Village. The thief cut the locks on four lamps and loaded them in the back of a white pickup truck. McGillin's owner Christopher Mullins said that they knew what they were doing. The lamps cost around $300 each and are very hard to find due to demand for outdoor dining.... Read More

The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office has refiled charges against a police officer accused of striking a protester with his baton during a protest near the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in June 2020. Pennsylvania has launched a new website that allows everyone in the state to register to be alerted when it is their turn to get a coronavirus COVID-19 vaccine. The 'Your Turn' site allows you to enter your contact information and basic medical qualifying information to determine if you are eligible to receive a vaccine. Officials in Montgomery County are investigating after a man armed with a sword was shot and killed by police on Tuesday evening, 2/9. It happened around 7:30 p.m. on East 8th Street near Long Alley in Pennsburg. Police responded to a 911 call from a family member about a distressed person.
