Nine people were injured, including several children, when a tree fell down after being struck by lightening at a Bucks County swim club on Sunday afternoon, 8/18. It happened just before 5 p.m. at the Dolphin Swim Club on the 200 block of West Bristol Road in Feasterville. The large white tent was set up over several picnic tables as an eating area. Five people were shot and injured in Philadelphia's Logan/Ogontz section on Thursday afternoon, 8/15. It happened around 4:30 p.m. on the 5800 block of North 15th Street. Gunfire erupted on Wednesday afternoon, 8/14, in North Philadelphia when Philadelphia Police officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant in the Tioga-Nicetown section leading to a 7-hour standoff. Charges Dropped Against Trash Truck Driver; Missing Philly NAACP Man Found; $3mil Scratch-Off Philly

A judge has dismissed charges against a trash truck driver who allegedly hit and killed a female on a bike in Center City in 2017. 28-year-old Jorge Fretts was charged with vehicular homicide, involuntary manslaughter, and reckless endangerment in February 2019. Judge Lillian Ransom dismissed all charges on Wednesday, 8/15. The city has 30-days to appeal.
