Philadelphia Police have identified the suspect arrested in the fatal shooting outside of Pat's Steaks early Thursday morning, 7/22. 36-year-old Paul Burkert of Reading, PA, has been charged with the murder of 23-year-old David Padro of Camden, NJ. It happened just before 1 a.m. outside the iconic cheesesteak shop in South Philadelphia. The two men were in line to order when they got into an argument and then started to fight. A man was shot and killed while in line at Pat's King of Steaks in South Philadelphia early Thursday morning, 7/22. It happened around 1 a.m. outside the landmark cheesesteak shop bound by 9th Street, Wharton Street, and Passayunk Avenue. Police say that 6 or 7 people were waiting in line on the sidewalk to order when an argument and fight broke out between two customers. One person pulled out a gun and shot the other. 2 adults and 4 children were injured after a home exploded in Chester County on Wednesday, 7/21. It happened just before 12 p.m. on the 400 block of Hibernia Road in West Brandywine Township. The sprawling property has numerous buildings and a large pool. The family was in the main farmhouse at the time the explosion happened. Hazy skies across the Delaware Valley are being blamed on smoke from wildfires in western Canada. The smoke is being carried across the continent on the jet stream and settling high the atmosphere above us causing that haze. The National Weather Service has issued an air quality alert because of the smoke. A husband and wife were killed and a neighbor was injured in a residential house fire in Berks County early Sunday morning. It happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday at a home on the 100 block of Orchard View Drive in Amity Township. Firefighters found the bodies of Henry J. A New Jersey man charged with kidnapping his son and prompting a multi-state Amber Alert last Friday, 7/8, is now charged with the murder of the boy's mother. 27-year-old Tyler Rios of Highland Park abducted 2-year-old Sebastian Rios and 24-year-old Yasemin Uyar from their home in Rahway.
