A body matching the description of a missing Bucks County woman has been found. 26-year-old Cassandra 'Casey' Johnston's vehicle was found in a wooded area just off Woodhaven Road (Rt. 63) at the exit to Rt. 1 North in Northeast Philadelphia on Saturday, 7/31. The body was found on Sunday afternoon, 8/1, about a half mile away from the car in a wooded area by Byberry Creek near Townsend and Southampton Roads. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated some of its guidance regarding masking on Tuesday, 7/27. Officials now recommend that fully vaccinated people return to wearing masks indoors in those parts of the country that are experiencing high COVID-19 transmission rates. A man convicted of killing a trans woman and LGBTQ+ advocate in May 2019 has been sentenced. 30-year-old Troy Bailey was found guilty of third-degree murder and other charges in the death of 40-year-old Michelle "Tamika" Washington last week. A New Jersey woman has been charged after she was caught on video shouting racial slurs and throwing items at a hotel clerk early Monday morning, 7/19.
