Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced a roll back on restrictions in the wake of a recent rise in coronavirus COVID-19 infections. The statewide mitigation efforts will affect bars, restaurants, night clubs, gyms, catered events, and other gatherings. Bars and nightclubs must shut down again, unless they also offer sit down dining. They can continue take-out alcohol sales if licensed. Restaurants must limit capacity to 25% (down from 50%). The School District of Philadelphia has announced its plan for returning students to school for the upcoming 2020-21 academic year amid the ongoing coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. A Philadelphia tow truck driver/mechanic is being called a hero after saving a young woman's life who was struggling swimming down the shore on Tuesday evening, 7/14. It happened around 7:30-8 p.m. near Baker Avenue in Wildwood. Tyree Ward of East Oak Lane was packing up to leave the beach with his family when a young woman came running up saying her friend was drowning. All of the lifeguards had been gone for a while. Philadelphia officials announced that no large scale public events will be held in the city until at least February 28, 2021. The moratorium was set in place over concerns from coronavirus COVID-19. An 18-year-old recent high school graduate is being called a 'hero' after saving two women caught in the rough surf in Ventnor, NJ on Friday evening, 7/10. Jalan Alston of Brooklyn, NY was visiting the shore with a few friends to celebrate their graduation from George Westinghouse High School. The Lancaster County District Attorney's office announced on Saturday afternoon, 7/11, that they have charged a Paradise Township man with kidnapping in the disappearance of an 18-year-old Amish woman last month. 34-year-old Justo Smoker was charged with felony kidnapping and misdemeanor false imprisonment of Linda Stoltzfoos.
