Comcast to buy Time Warner for $44.2 Billion

Philadelphia-based Comcast is expected to announce Thursday that it has reached an agreement to buy Time Warner Cable for $44.2 billion in stock or around $159 per share.

Currently, Comcast has around 22 million subscribers or 21 percent of the country's pay-TV homes. The acquisition would increase that customer base to 33 million subscribers or 33 percent, solidifying Comcast's spot as the top provider of cable television services.

Two years ago Steve Jobs decried the market of small screened (7 inch or so) tablet computers, basically saying that the screen size could not be utilized effectively for making great tablet applications.
