Two men were ambushed, shot, and killed during a funeral procession in Upper Darby on Friday afternoon, 7/8. It happened around 1 p.m. near Marshall Road and Powell Lane outside Friends Southwestern Burial Ground. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene. "100% targeted, 100% ambushed. A man wanted for attacking and raping a woman in a Center City office building on Tuesday afternoon, 7/5, was taken into custody in South Jersey on Thursday night, 7/7. 49-year-old Willie L. Harris was arrested in Washington Township, New Jersey. The assault happened on the 200 block of N. 13th Street at Race Street. Two police officers were shot and injured on Monday night, 7/4, during Philadelphia's 4th of July Concert and Fireworks. It happened at 9:47 p.m. on the 2400 block of Spring Garden Street near the Benjamin Franklin Parkway by Eakins Oval and the Art Museum. Shots rang out soon after the fireworks and music began. A 56-year-old man was stabbed and killed by another man while they were over a friend'ds house Saturday night, 7/2, in Roxborough. It happened around 8 p.m. on the 400 block of Seville Street. A neighbor had invited three men over to his home. At some point, a 52-year-old man used a kitchen knife to stab the victim. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene. The suspect was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered. Police say they do not have a motive.

A woman was killed and two firefighters were injured in a 2-alarm blaze in Montgomery County on Friday evening, 7/1. It happened just before 8 p.m. on the 200 block of Summit Avenue in Jenkintown. Firefighters arrived to heavy flames on the first and second floors of the three-story twin home. Homeowner 69-year-old Susanne Whitehead was found unconscious on the second floor. Ketanji Brown Jackson was sworn in as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court on Thursday, 6/30. The 51-year-old is the 116th justice and the first Black woman. She is replacing Justice Stephen Breyer who retired today. The court also finished a session where it ruled on high profile cases including abortion, immigration, climate change, and freedom of religion. A young woman was shot and killed by stray gunfire while in a bar on Tuesday night, 6/28, when a disgruntled patron opened fire from the outside of the establishment after being escorted out by a bouncer.
