SEPTA officials are reminding passengers that the fare increase will go into effect over this upcoming weekend. The fare increase was approved by the board back in May and will effect all means of transportation. The electronic card and token single fares will increase from $1.80 to $2, cash fares will increase from $2.25 to $2.50 and weekly TransPass fares will increase from $24 to $25.50. Police are now investigating a shooting that took place in North Philadelphia that left one man dead. The shooting happened on the 1700 block of North 6th Street at around 7:30 pm. Police arrived on the scene to find the 31-year-old victim who had gunshot wounds to the head, back and shoulder. The man was then rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Police are still investigating into the shooting.

Philadelphia Police have now found human remains in an empty lot in the Tioga-Nicetown section of Philadelphia. The human remains were found by contractors at around 4 pm on the 1700 block of Atlantic Street. The remains were found inside of a milk crate on the site as well as inside of a briefcase. Police have stated that the construction crews found bones earlier in June, but thought they were just animal remains. Examiners believe that the level of decomposition on the bones is around... Police are now searching for a suspect who is wanted for a shooting that took place in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. The shooting happened on the 5800 block of North Lee Street at around 9:10 pm on Monday. When police arrived on scene they found a 26-year-old woman with gun shot wounds. A 9-year-old boy has been hospitalized after he was accidentally set on fire in the Cobb's Creek section of Philadelphia. The incident took place along the unit block of South Redfield Street. Police have stated that boy and his 10-year-old friend were playing with a lighter. The 9-year-old's shirt was then set on fire. He was then rushed to the hospital with multiple burns to his body.

New Jersey lawmakers have now sent Governor Chris Christie a measure that would raise the smoking age to 21 in the state. The Democratic controlled Senate wants to raise the smoking age from 19 to 21, only allowing anyone above the age of 21 to buy tobacco and electronic cigarettes. The Senate previously approved the measure, but Gov. Christie vetoed it. The Senate is unsure how Christie will feel about the measure this time around. The group of storms on Wednesday night delayed 4 of SEPTA's regional rail lines, leaving many passengers upset and without any means of transportation. Debris and downed trees shut down the Paoli Thorndale, Fox Chase, Warminster and Wilmington Lines. As the train came to a stop on the Paoli Thorndale line, SEPTA employees were reportedly not very helpful in the situation and did not give information as to what was going on. A stretch of 5th Street in Old City was closed Monday night after an underground fire occurred. Crews blocked off the road between Chestnut and Walnut streets. Fire crews arrived on the scene after smoke began to rise from underneath the manhole in the street. Crews were able to get the fire out, but the road remained closed the majority of the night, as they wanted to ensure the safety of vehicles driving on the road. Fire crews are still investigating what caused the fire.

Today marked the last day of the 2017 Firefly Music Festival out here in the Woodlands at Dover Downs in Dove,r Delaware, and it was by far the most beautiful and stacked day of them all. The sun was out and shining bright, some clouds did pass by though to give the festival goers some nice shade to cool off in. The temperatures were in the 90's today so everyone was feeling the heat. SEPTA Schedule Changes; Shooting Outside Center City Nightclub; Judge Calls Mistrial In Cosby Case

SEPTA officials have now announced that they are making several changes to their city schedule. The Route 15 trolley has been closed and will not be running again until September 17th. SEPTA crews will be replacing the trolley tracks and buses will run along the route in its place until the tracks are replaced.
