Firefighter Family Donations, Metal Rod in Wegman’s Chips, NJ Troopers Hiring

Today, Memorial services begin for the firefighters killed in the Kensington Warehouse blaze. Families and friends and will pay their respect for Lieutenant Robert Neary and Daniel Sweeney. Charities have been established for donations to the families. iRadioPhilly has the information on our website.

DONATIONS FOR LINE OF DUTY DEATHS OF
LIEUTENANT ROBERT NEARY AND FIREFIGHTER DANIEL SWEENEY

In lieu of flowers, the families of Lieutenant Robert Neary and Firefighter Daniel Sweeney have requested that donations be made to charity. Lieutenant Neary’s family asks that donations be made to Local 22 Widow’s Fund and Firefighter Sweeney’s family requests that donations be made to any charity of the donor’s choice in the name of Firefighter Daniel Sweeney.

Mindy Perlmutter, a Bucks County mom claims her 4 year old son found a 10 inch metal rod in a sealed bag of Wegman’s Tortilla chips. Apparently a packaging part, Wegman’s offered a $100 gift card as compensation but the Perlmutters refused and are negotiating for a month of free groceries.

Looking for a new job. The New Jersey State Police is hiring. Governor Christie has authorized hiring 225 troopers over the next couple of years.
