Two brothers were shot and killed inside their Trenton, NJ, home on Tuesday night, 10/21, when a gunman opened fire on their house from outside. It happened around 10:30 p.m. on the 200 block of Mulberry Street. 8-year-old Johnny Perez and 16-year-old Gustavo Perez were struck and killed while inside the kitchen of their second floor apartment. The 16-year-old was shot in the chest and the 8-year-old was shot in the neck. Officers swarmed the area looking for a suspect. No was has been arrested and no motive is known. The Mercer County Homicide Task Force is investigating.

"We believe that there were at least six shots fired. One actually went through the window, but it would not make sense if only one bullet went through the window with two victims struck," Trenton Police Director Sheilah Coley said. "These are the things we're still piecing together to try to make sense of, and I wouldn't want to elaborate any more than that because it's now being investigated by the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office and not Trenton Police, so I wouldn't want to say anything that would interfere with their investigation."

A man was critically injured after being shot in the parking lot of a Wawa in Delaware late Tuesday night, 10/20. It happened just before midnight on the 1100 block of Pulaski Highway in the Glendale Plaza Shopping Center in Bear, DE. The 24-year-old man was shot twice, in his leg and abdomen. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The suspect ran from the scene. No arrests have been made.

A mother and her son died while her daughter was injured in a house fire overnight in the Point Breeze section of Philadelphia. It happened around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, 10/21, on the 2200 block of Pierce Street. The 39-year-old mother, 14-year-old son, and 12-year-old daughter were trapped inside. They were rescued by fire crews and taken to the hospital. The mother and son were taken to Jefferson Hospital where they died. The daughter was taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and is in stable condition. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
