Police have identified the woman killed in a hit-and-run accident on the Route 1 Superhighway in Bucks County early Monday morning, 3/2. 29-year-old Alexandra Ridgway was walking along or trying to cross the southbound lanes of Rt. 1 near Neshaminy High School in Middletown Township when she was struck by multiple vehicles. No vehicle stopped at the scene. Middletown Township police do say that they have three vehicles in custody that have been identified as being at the crash scene at the time. Those three vehicles have been cleared of any involvement in the crash and the drivers and owners are cooperating as potential witnesses. They are still searching for the striking vehicle, which they believe may be a large truck. Middletown Township police also say that human remains found in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia hours after the crash have not yet been positively matched to the victim. If you have any information, contact police at 215-750-3800. There is a GoFundMe page set up to help with funeral expenses https://www.gofundme.com/f/funeral-for-alexandra-ridgway

A man who barricaded himself inside a Chester County motel finally surrendered to SWAT after an hours long standoff on Tuesday, 3/3. It happened at the Quality Inn on the 900 block of South High Street in West Goshen Township. Pennsylvania State Police went to the motel on Tuesday morning with an arrest warrant for Matthew Moser. He was wanted for the murder of a woman in Lancaster County over the weekend. When they tried to serve the warrant, Moser barricaded himself in the room. The motel was evacuated and SWAT responded. Eventually, Moser surrendered around 7 p.m. "The Pennsylvania State Police engaged in a thorough and successful investigation. They were able to diffuse a life-threatening situation where dozens of people could have been hurt. We are grateful for their work, along with joint efforts from the West Goshen and Westtown East Goshen Police Departments to bring this case to a swift and safe conclusion," Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said in a statement.

Philadelphia health officials confirmed on Tuesday, 3/3, that a person in Philadelphia is being investigated for possible coronavirus infection. There have been no confirmed cases in Philadelphia or the entire Delaware Valley. The Philadelphia Health Department says that the risk of infection of COVID-19 for the average Philadelphian is very low.
