Philadelphia Police are investigating after a transgender woman was assaulted near City Hall on Friday afternoon and caught on video. It happened around 4:40 p.m. on the 1300 block of Filbert Street. The victim and two friends were walking when they were approached by the unknown man. Words were exchanged. The man then threw a bag at the woman and began to strike her while shouting homophobic and transphobic slurs. The man then fled on foot. The entire incident was captured on cell phone video by the victim. The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20's, thin build, around 5' 8". He was wearing an orange and black hooded jacket and brown pants. Anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia police. You can watch the video released by the police below.

UPDATE 1/22/17 12pm: A 25-year-old homeless man was arrested and taken into custody at 7:42 a.m. Sunday morning. He was found at SEPTA's Frankford Transportation Center wearing clothes matching the suspect from Friday's incident. His identity has not been released.

Philadelphia Police are investigating a home invasion and sex assault in Chestnut Hill early on Saturday morning. It happened around 4 a.m. in the unit block of East Chestnut Hill Avenue. An armed man entered the home through an unlocked door. He made his way to the bedroom where a husband and wife were asleep. At gunpoint, the suspect forced the wife to perform a sex act on him while the husband was forced to watch. At one point the suspect put the gun down and the victim was able to grab it. She tried to shoot the suspect, but the gun wouldn't fire. The suspect then grabbed the couple's wallets, cell phones, and keys and fled in their 2017 Hyundai Elantra. No arrests have been made. The suspect is described as a black male, 18 - 25 years, wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

A woman shot and killed a man inside their Manayunk apartment early Saturday. It happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday on the 4300 block of Boone Street. The 28-year-old woman says she shot her 32-year-old male roommate in the neck after he entered her room with scissors. The man then fell down the stairs. Detectives are investigating the possibility that the shooting was self defense. In the meantime, she has been placed under arrest and taken in for questioning. Police say the shooting happened during some type of dispute.

UPDATE 1/23/17: 28-year-old Anthanasia Moncrief got into an argument with 32-year-old Richard Spadel. Moncrief owned the home on Boone Street and Spadel rented a room. The argument was over Spadel's failure to pay rent. It escalated to pushing and shoving. Moncrief retrieved a gun and shot Spadel in the back. She is charged with murder and related charges.
