A Montgomery County woman appeared in court on Wednesday for allegedly supplying heroin to an overdose victim. 27-year-old Gwen Prebish admitted to selling heroin to 32-year-old Michael Pastorino, who was later found dead in his Upper Moreland Township home. Upon further investigation, officials say that Prebish actually sold Pastorino fentanyl, which is 40 to 50 times stronger than heroin. Prebish faces multiple charges including drug delivery resulting in death and involuntary manslaughter. Prebish will appear in court again this May. Prosecutors say that they are trying to send a message to drug dealers that they will be held responsible for the deaths of people they sell to.

A suspect is now in custody for stealing an ambulance from Episcopal Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon. Police say that a Rhythm Ambulance was parked outside of the dialysis center when the female suspect jumped in and stole the ambulance while the drivers were inside of the hospital. Police were able to apprehend the suspect at the intersection of American and West Cumberland Streets in Kensington. The suspect is now in police custody, and officials say the ambulance did not have a patient in it.

Many PATCO train riders have noticed and been experiencing many inconsistencies with the train service. Many of the trains have been overcrowded, skipping stations, and even canceling stops during the evening and morning rushes. The PATCO mechanics and electricians are now working to deal with motor breakdowns as well. Officials say that the problems started when snow had gotten into the air-cooled motors and melted causing a short and a motor meltdown. In the past 10 days, PATCO has had to replace 24 motors. PATCO service workers are doing their best to restore the motors, and get back to a regular schedule.
