I-476 Accident NE Extension, Obamacare Dismantling Begins, NJ Code Blue Alerts

Pennsylvania State Police say traffic is snarled following a multi-vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer in the southbound lanes of the Northeast Extension between the Lansdale and Quakertown exits. Police say the accident happened just before 3 p.m. and two to three vehicles are involved. One victim was medevaced to an area hospital. No word on their condition. Only one lane is getting by.

The House of Representatives began the process of dismantling the Affordable Care Act on Friday, approving a budget resolution on a mostly party line vote. The vote was 227-198. The Senate passed the measure earlier this week. It allows Republicans on Capitol Hill to use a process known as "budget reconciliation" to roll back major parts of the health care law. Top Republican leaders are also saying they plan to move to replace Obamacare along the same track, but they are still struggling to come up with the details on how it will work.

Plunging temperatures and potential for snow and sleet are prompting local counties to declare Code Blue Weather Emergencies. A Code Blue is in effect in Camden County from 6 p.m. Saturday until 7 a.m. Sunday. Burlington County declared a Code Blue Weather Emergency effective starting 7 p.m. Saturday through 11 a.m. Sunday. A Code Blue is declared when winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter. Periods of snow and wintry mix will diminish for much of the area by midnight Sunday. Watch for slippery travel conditions through this time frame.
