Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has announced that Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia will be her Vice Presidential running mate. Kaine emerged as the front runner for the position on Friday ahead of other potential picks including Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown, and New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker. 58-year-old Kaine has served in the Senate since 2013. He previously has served as Mayor of Richmond, Lt. Governor of Virginia, and Governor of Virginia. Kaine is seen as more conservative than Clinton. He is Catholic and is fluent in spanish. Kaine will join Clinton for the first time in Miami on Saturday.

1 person is dead and 7 others are injured after a hit-and-run accident in South Philadelphia on Friday night. It happened just before 9 p.m. at 21st and Jackson Street. A white Toyota collided with a mini-van before hitting several pedestrians. The driver of the car fled but has been caught and arrested. The injured have been taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and Jefferson University Hospital.

Workers at the Philadelphia International Airport and American Airlines have reached an agreement that will avert a strike during next week's Democratic National Convention. Mayor Jim Kenney and Gov. Tom Wolf brought the two sides together. SEIU 32BJ has been trying to unionize nonunion workers, including baggage handlers, wheelchair attendants, and airplane cleaners. They voted last week to strike during the DNC. They seek better scheduling, clarity on sick pay, a more predictable disciplinary system, and the ability to form a union. 32BJ and American will be working through next week to keep the airport working through the DNC.
