Hillary Presumptive Nominee, A Day In My Life CD, Deadly Auto-Pedestrian Accidents Increasing

Hillary Clinton will become the first woman to top the presidential ticket of a major U.S. political party, capturing commitments Monday from the number of delegates needed to become the Democrats' presumptive nominee. The victory arrived nearly eight years to the day after she conceded her first White House campaign to Barack Obama. Bernie Sanders said this past weekend he plans to fight on until the convention, promising to make the case to superdelegates that he is better positioned to beat Trump in November

The CD "A Day in My Life" is written and performed by students at Houston Elementary in Mount Airy, and on this day of its release, they're being recognized by the state House. The CD started as a creative writing project and grew into a musical expression, says Houston music teacher Ezechial Thurman. It's the third album for the school's Rural Lane Records label, and the first in collaboration with LiveConnections. The album is available to listen to on soundcloud.

Accident investigators in Philadelphia have been busy this year with an alarming increase of deadly auto-pedestrian accidents. Fatal crashes involving walkers, joggers, and bikers are up by more than 50% according to Philly Police. Captain of the Accident Investigation Division John Wilczynski says so far this year, they’ve seen 17 such accidents Wilczynski says distracted drivers AND distracted pedestrians are to blame.
