I-676 Tractor Trailer Cleanup, Paulsboro High School Reopens, One Book One Philadelphia Wrap Up

Cleanup continues Thursday morning after a tractor trailer overturned on the I-676 ramp in Philadelphia's Old City neighborhood. The accident was reported Wednesday night at the I-676 westbound ramp near the base of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. One person has been taken to Hahnemann University Hospital with minor injuries. It does not appear any other vehicles were involved. The Delaware River Port Authority says three lanes of traffic were being diverted off at 5th Street. This will likely continue to cause problems during the Thursday morning rush hour commute.

School is on for Paulsboro High School students today after a strange odor sickened more than a dozen people at the Gloucester County school yesterday. Emergency Management Personnel tested the air quality at the school this morning. The school’s superintendent says air readings have come back clean. The school was closed early yesterday, but deemed safe later in the afternoon.

The Free Library closes its “One Book , One Philadelphia” season, with a grand finale featuring the author of this year’s selection — which found a lot of fans in the city. A group of students from St. Mary’s gathered around Christina Baker Klein like she was a pop star, getting her autograph on their copies of her bestseller “Orphan Train”. Klein has been visiting the city for book discussions in the last two months, and has been meeting with readers all week as the annual event wraps up.
