Officials say a cab driver was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be rescued after two cars collided early Friday morning in West Philadelphia. This happened just before 3:30 a.m. at 63rd and Chestnut Streets. The cab driver was trapped for about 20 minutes and had to be cut out from the car. He was taken to Presbyterian Hospital with fractured arms and is in stable condition. The driver of the other vehicle has been arrested on DUI. He reportedly suffered minor injuries from the air bag.

Police say a man is in critical condition following a fire he accidentally started while doing drugs at a Kensington home early Friday morning. This happened just after midnight at the home located on the 3100 block of Reach Street. Authorities say crews were quickly able to place the heavy fire under control. The victim was taken to Temple Hospital with burns to two-thirds of his body where he remains in critical condition. Nobody else was found inside the home and no other injuries were reported.

Police say a man was found dead inside his car, shot multiple times early Friday morning in North Philadelphia. This happened around 12:30 a.m. at 27th and Silver Streets. According to police, the 39-year-old victim was found dead inside his Mercedes. At least seven shots were reportedly fired at close range. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say they don’t have a motive at this time, but police appear to know who the suspect is they are looking for as an investigation continues.
