An 80 year old Upper Darby man put up quite a fight with police when they tried to subdue him Wednesday night. Labeled "one nasty senior citizen" by police, Joseph Smith had called 9-1-1 and threatened to kill himself and the dispatcher. Police arrived at the Lansdowne Towers and saw Smith yelling from a window. He fired shots from a 9 mm handgun toward officers before teargas launched into his apartment allowed police to enter and still need to hit the 80 year old twice with a stun gun and shackle his wrists and ankles. Joe Smith has no prior record.

Penn State will not honor some tickets for Saturday’s college football game with Temple. 115 Tickets that were allotted to Temple were stolen and Penn State will not honor those tickets at Beaver Stadium. If you bought tickets from a third party, check the section and seat numbers. The seats not valid for this game are in section NKU, rows 63-71, seats 1-23 (odd number seats) and row 72, seats 1-9 (odd number seats).

After 150 years in business, a popular South Jersey winery has filed for bankruptcy. The Renault Winery, outside of Atlantic City also includes a golf course and resort filed Chapter 11 but COO Dennis DelVecchio says they will remain open while they address outstanding debt issues. They hire over 150 people during busy season and hope to continue for years to come.
