A man shot during a home invasion this morning in Philadelphia's Mantua section has been identified as imprisoned abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell's son. 22-year-old Baron Alexander (formally Gosnell) was shot by a resident of the home on the 3700 block of Brandywine Street in West Philadelphia around 7 am Wednesday. Alexander had broken into the house through a rear bathroom window. The commotion awoke a resident who investigated the noise and became involved in a confrontation with the suspect. A second resident came downstairs armed with a handgun and shot the intruder twice. Alexander fled the house but collapsed outside. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The residents were unharmed. Kermit Gosnell is serving a life sentence for the murder of three babies born during botched abortion procedures.

Last night, in Lindenwold, NJ, a naked man who was high on drugs, punched a police officer in the face and then tried to steal his patrol car. It happened at 10:20 at the 1100 Building of Arborwood Condos, located at 511 East Gibbsboro Road. The officer was interviewing two suspicious people outside of the apartment complex when the naked man, unrelated to the investigation, ran up to him and punched him in the face. He struggled to arrest the male who was sweating profusely. The suspect broke free and jumped in the patrol car and tried to steal it. After another struggle and foot pursuit officers were able to handcuff him. He has been identified as 28-year-old Byron Neville of Lindenwold. He was believed to be under the influence of marijuana laced with PCP. He faces charges of Carjacking and Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. He is being held at the Camden County Jail on $200,000 bail.

A Philadelphia special education teacher has been arrested and charged for having a sexual relationship with one of her students. 30-year-old Stephanie Amato is an 8th grade teacher for the Ethan Allen School in Mayfair in Northeast Philadelphia. The 14-year-old male student claims that the two had sex on multiple occasions at her home and in her car between March and April of this year. She faces charges of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Statutory Sexual Assault, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Interference with Custody of Children, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Corruption of a Minor, Indecent Assault, and Indecent Exposure. She turned herself into authorities.
