Charges have been filed in Boston against a bus driver who crashed his bus into a highway overpass in February. The crash injured 35 students and chaperones on the way home to the Philadelphia area following a field trip to Harvard university. Massachusetts officials announced today that 66-year-old Samuel Jackson of Philadelphia will face criminal charges of operating negligently to endanger. He also faces civil violations of failing to obey a sign banning buses from the Department of Conservation and Recreation roadway. The crash happened on February 2nd when Jackson ignored height restrictions on the roadway adjacent to the Charles River and did not slow down as the bus slammed into an overpass. Most of the injuries were minor, however some were serious, requiring hospitalization.
