Hampton Inn Meth Lab Bust, South Philly Tire Slashes, Penn State Civil Settlements

26 year old, Mathew Phillip Sinson, was taken into custody Saturday morning when police found a portable meth lab at the center city Hampton Inn and he's been charged. But, a second suspect remains at large. Police confiscated multiple grams of methamphetamine with a street value of around $71,000.00;
various chemical components for the manufacturing of methamphetamine, and paraphernalia such as funnels, containers, and grinding equipment.

More tires were slashed Sunday morning, but this time the vandalism occurred in South Philadelphia. Police say tires were slashed on at least nine vehicles along the 1900 block of South Hicks Street. The slashings happened overnight and were discovered early Sunday morning.

Penn State is hoping to settle the lawsuits that have been filed in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse investigation, according to university president Rodney Erickson. Erickson told CBS he’s hoping to turn a new page by rapidly concluding the civil claims Sandusky’s victims have brought against Penn State. What the price tag will be on the civil claims against Penn State, arising from the Jerry Sandusky case is unknown.
